Alpkit X SHU.
This project explored a technical approach, in collaboration with Alpkit, to develop an electronic housing that converts power generated by a magneto hub at the centre of the front wheel into a USB-C output for charging devices on the go, offering an economical and environmentally sustainable energy solution.

A brief summary of the design journey.
From position on the bike to product concept, I created a design based around its ability to offer an accessible USB-C output near the handlebars as well as a rear bike light, integrated into the form of the product.
Saddle up.
Documenting the product in both road and mountain bike environments and scenarios allowing me to validate the concept through real-world testing.

Finishing touches.
Identifying the CMF, DFM and branding. Making sure it met Alpkit’s pre-existing identity as well as meet their Certified B Corporation standards.
